I offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples seeking greater understanding, emotional safety, and lasting change. My work provides a steady, confidential space to slow things down and work carefully with what feels difficult or stuck, at a pace that feels manageable.
People often arrive in therapy when familiar patterns no longer feel sustainable — in relationships, in emotional life, or within themselves. Together, we work to understand what is happening beneath the surface and to create conditions where new ways of relating can gradually emerge.
Working With Couples
My work with couples is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), an attachment-based approach that supports partners to recognise negative interaction cycles and build more secure, responsive ways of relating over time.
Couples often arrive feeling stuck in patterns that repeat — arguments that escalate quickly, distance that grows quietly, or conversations that never quite reach what matters most. In EFCT, we focus less on the content of disagreements and more on the emotional patterns underneath them.
We slow things down.
We notice what happens in moments of threat or disconnection.
We work with the nervous system rather than against it.
When partners begin to recognise the cycle they are caught in — and feel supported to respond differently in real time — something shifts. The relationship becomes less of a battleground and more of a place where vulnerability can be met with care.
This work is particularly helpful for couples who:
Feel stuck in recurring conflict or emotional distance
Are navigating trust ruptures or betrayals
Are parenting under strain
Are living with neurodivergence in themselves or their children
Want to strengthen an already solid relationship and deepen connection
Couples therapy is not about assigning blame or deciding who is right. It is about helping both partners feel seen, understood, and safer with one another.
Sessions are usually weekly, especially at the beginning of the process, as consistency allows new patterns to take root and trust to build.
I offer a free 20-minute online consultation for couples who would like to explore whether this approach feels like a good fit before beginning ongoing work.
Working With Individuals
Individual psychotherapy offers space to explore what feels overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to carry alone. Many people come when they notice repeating internal patterns, experience strong or conflicting emotions, or feel disconnected from themselves or others.
My individual work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a compassionate, evidence-based approach that understands the mind as made up of different parts, each shaped by experience and each trying, in its own way, to protect us. Rather than trying to get rid of difficult thoughts or feelings, we work to understand them and develop a more trusting internal relationship with them.
Together, we pay gentle attention to parts of you that may be protecting, criticising, holding fear, or carrying old pain. Over time, this process can reduce inner conflict, soften reactivity, and support a steadier, more grounded sense of self.
This work is often helpful for people experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, trauma responses, compulsive behaviours and addiction, or a sense of being pulled in different directions internally. Change tends to happen gradually, through curiosity, safety, and respect for your internal system.
